Workshops

We don’t do “Sorry” at the sewing machine.

Mistakes aren’t failures; they’re learning experiences. If you snip a hole, sew a sleeve on backwards, or completely butcher a zip insertion, you don’t owe anyone an apology.
Ripping it out is just part of the process, drop the guilt and keep stepping on the pedal!

Workshops from other Studios

When I’m not in my own studio, you can find me sharing the sewing love as a resident guest tutor at some of the region's finest independent sewing schools and creative spaces including Sew Creative Petersfield and Miss Maker .

It’s an honour to step into these beautiful creative hubs to teach specialised technical workshops.

Meet the Teacher

Hiya!

Your instructor is a fabric wizard who demystifies the world of dressmaking. She loves sharing practical tips, pattern hacks, and cutting through the terminology to give clear instructions that take the frustration out of sewing. Get ready to build your confidence, master your machine, and create clothes that actually fit.

  • Clare is a superb teacher. She is patient kind and funny. Her eye for pattern correction (raising a v neck, adjusting a crotch) is second to none. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

    Rhona

  • From cutting out the fabric to the actual sewing together Clare was so supportive every step of the way. I ended up with a dress I love and which fits me to perfection.

    Judi

  • I have achieved so much with Clare over the last 3/8 years and sewing weekends away which I loved . Clare is calm nothing fazes her even if you panic

    Catherine

  • If you ever thought of trying a class of hers I would absolutely recommend it. They are welcoming, funny and a great day out - I went with my 16 year old daughter and she had a blast too!

    Natalie

  • Clare not only gave me my confidence back she taught me techniques for a professional finish. I love going to her classes she is kind funny and has the patience of a saint.
